Teacher's Day

On the 16th of May 2013, the world celebrated teacher’s day. Just like any other human-orientated celebration, teachers were given so many tokens of appreciation and gratitude from students. Well, they gave them a lot too don’t you think ? They deserve to be thanked for the knowledge they give, the values they educate and the prayers they say.

So, I would like to share with you guys about my celebration of Teacher’s Day. I posted this a little bit late because I was busy with a program with my Maahad Muar juniors. But nevermine. My friends and I have left school for 2 years now but still we tried to give something to the school and the teachers as a symbol of appreciation that will make us last in their memories.

So, on the Teacher’s Day 2012, we gave them a big framed photograph of us, the whole students. We didn’t really plan for that but on the day before, one of us came with a question, “Hari guru ni kita tak nak bagi apa apa ke kat sekolah ? Kita kan batch paling gempak !”. So, all of us wrecked our brains to find an idea of what to give to them and I came with this photo idea. We  had to run to find the photos of our Graduation Day, edit them and bring them to the photo studio to get them processed. Then, we ran to the frame shop and ordered a frame of the same size as the photo. It cost us RM135 but it was worth it. Until today, the photo is being displayed to public in The Hall Of Fame gallery in school. It’s unbelievable that we manage to fix things in less than 24 hours. Fuhh. What a job.

That's me holding the frame ! weee !

Now, for this year’s Teacher’s Day, we prepared something a little bit unusual and rarely made by people, which is a Samurai sword. Yeah. I know it sounds mad right ? But I didn’t came with the idea of ‘giving a sword’ alone. The real idea is the carved ‘Selamat Hari Guru’ in Jawi writings on the blade and put it in a glass frame. But what happened was, we failed to find someone who can carve the steel and even if we did find one, it actually takes months to have it done. So we changed the plan. We, put it in the glass frame, and include a plaque with a quote. Behind these words, is the message portrayed by the gift. So, this made the gift look appropriate rather than ridiculous.

This is the samurai sword I was talking about !

This is the frame, displayed in the Gallery.

This is the sword displayed in the Gallery. Yeahh !

We also had a reunion gathering with our friends. It's good to see them again after quite a while. Hopefully, our bonds will always remain attached until Jannah. That's all for now. I'll update my blog with a post regarding the Leadership camp with my juniors soon. InsyaAllah. Assalamualaikum !
